The
Rare fixed blade
knife
has a beautiful Mora Sweden
Curly Birch Burl wood handle.
This vintage knife set was likely
manufactured
in the
1930's or 1940's
as indicated by the unique fixed blade design and stamping.
The knife is stamped:
Frost's
PATENT.  SKIDKNIV
and it features a
Mirror-like Steel blade
and
Birdseye Curly Birch Burl wood handle.
This is an Exceptionally Nice antique hunting knife that shows the handcrafted quality that goes into these Swedish made knives.
Remember, “back in their day” these older knives were purchased to be used…
Not
collected, making this great vintage condition difficult to find.

Everything is tight on the knife including the
shiny metal bolster
and the
tang nut
at the butt end...so there is
No movement.
This detailed
"Birdseye curly
birch" wood
handle

Exceptionally Good Condition,
especially for being decades old!

BLADE
:
The
reflective
SKIDKNIV
fixed blade is
straight with a pointed tip
.  This rare SVENSKT  /  NORSKT blade has a unique
"finger / cross-guard blade design"
that is made from the blade itself.  This early design (built-in finger guard) helps with better blade control.
The antique
ROSTFRI  MED
SKARPA
steel fixed blade
is mirror-like
and
has some light short surface scratches, but
No blade edge nicks

This collectible Mora  Sweden style of knife has been sought after for hunting, fishing, and sometimes used as a fighting tool.
These early "Birdseye Curly Birch Burl Handle" hunting knives are becoming
increasingly
harder to find in exceptionally good condition.
SHEATH
:
The companion
leather sheath
fits the knife like a glove, and offers secure carrying.  This roughback sheath (or case) is reinforced with the original
"Nickle-silver" plate
at the stiff throat.  There is also a
curved Nickle-silver
metal tip protector
that is securely riveted to the curved edge.
The sheath's
stitching is intac
t
and the case ha

secure metal rivets
.   There is
a
working fastening strap with metal
snap
,
plus an
attached belt loop with slot.
This vintage Mora Sweden style leather case has some normal light signs of handling and usage.
This vintage leather sheath is
FACTORY tooled
on the front with a
"Man in a Uniform skiing,
and
possibly cross-country skiing!

a rescue Scout or Offiicial officer,  or Military service man).

This SKARPA knife has
a lot of character and vintage appeal....with that "patina of time" appearance not yet achieved with newer knives.
Excellent early Swedish PATENTED  SKIDKNIV... just waiting for the right person to appreciate its quality design and make it their own
