Offered is this charming quarter-pound butter dish LID ONLY made in England by Crown Ducal in a transferware pattern called Bristol.
The semi-vitreous china blank is creamy-white with dark-pink designs of flowers and exotic birds.
Bristol is Crown Ducal’s most sought-after pattern. It was introduced in 1931 and remained in production for several years.
The blank features an embossed rim with a floral border design.
The lid belongs with a butter dish that is designed to hold a 4-ounce stick of butter. The bottom tray has been lost.
Good used condition. No chips or cracks. Fine crazing in the glaze, as is typical of this dinnerware. There is light staining on the lid. See photos.
